If you want to post a website on the Internet without going through the rigors of an editing program like Dreamweaver Wetpaint is your answer. It’s fun. It’s neat. It’s easy. Here’s what Wetpaint says about itself:

Wetpaint powers websites that tap the power of collaborative thinking. The heart of the Wetpaint advantage is its ability to allow anyone — especially those without technical skill — to create and contribute to websites written for and by those who share a passion or interest. To do this, Wetpaint combines the best aspects of wikis, blogs, forums and social networks so anyone can click and type on the web.

This is a great site for teachers who want to post their class work on the Internet and don’t have the time to take a website design class. The website offers interactive choices like discussion boards. They even let you turn off the ads on your site if you request them to do it. (I recommend for teachers to turn off the ads)

How much? It’s free! Go to Wetpaint Now!

Yesterday I was delighted to be invited into our Japanese language classroom. Ms. Junko prepared a lesson on the Japanese art of Origami. Origami is the art of paper folding. The sixth graders were working on their Japanese vocabulary as they made beautiful paper foldings. The brightly colored rabbits, mushrooms, egg plants, and persimmons were proudly displayed on their class bulletin board.

Many of the products that we use each day are manufactured in China.

What better time to begin your study of Mandarin, the official language of China.

Chinese-Tools.com is just the place to begin. It has loads of information on China. The list is long: online mandarin courses, a chinese dictionary, a chinese calligraphy studio, chinese songs and poems…and much more.

I especially liked the Chinese name translation tool. You type in your name and your name is shown in mandarin. This is really cool.

If you teach Mandarin (or just love China!), and need a website to support your teaching this might just be the site you’re looking for.

With more classrooms being fitted with computers and projectors visual media is becoming more important than ever. The teacher understands that the subject demands a good visual. The visual in the form of a drawing, photo, graph, or chart is just the beginning.

Show them instead of telling them.

Students want to see videos and flash movies showing them what is expected of them or what the concept they are learning is all about. Well, there is a website that is just what the classroom ordered. It’s called United Streaming and comes from the Discovery Channel. The website boasts thousands of videos and video clips. The videos sometimes come with teacher plans to help teach the concept with the video. The videos are easily found by using a search on the site.

It’s free…for 30 days.

The site gives teachers with a valid email account a free 30 day trial. With the reviews so far I suggest that you sign-up today.
